Biography

Dr. Muneer Ahmad is a Library and Information Science professional, researcher, and academic librarian with extensive experience in academic librarianship, library automation, digital libraries, research support, and scientometrics. He currently serves as Chief University Librarian at Iddi Basajjabalaba Memorial Library, Kampala International University, Uganda. He holds a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science (Scientometrics) from Annamalai University, India, with doctoral research on research productivity and scientometric analysis, along with postgraduate qualifications in Library and Information Science and Library Automation and Networking. His professional expertise includes KOHA, SOUL, digital library systems, digitization, bibliographic databases, Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed, ProQuest, and JSTOR. His research interests include scientometrics, bibliometrics, research evaluation, scholarly communication, library automation, digital scholarship, and emerging technologies in Library and Information Science. He has served as a resource person for hands-on training in KOHA, MyLOFT, Turnitin, DSpace, Mendeley, and research profile development. His work focuses on strengthening research-oriented library services through technology, data-driven approaches, digital resources, and capacity building.
