Biography

Following a master degree in Chemistry in 2007, I obtained in 2013 a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Kalyani (West Bengal) in India. During which, I managed a 5-year research project on oxidation and oxidative bromination reactions using polymer supported catalysts. I was part of a 10-person team and established strong collaborations with other Indian laboratories in this research field, leading to more than 50 publications in peer reviewed journals. Some of these collaborative works were published in renowned journals such as the interdisciplinary Journal of Materials Chemistry, as well as Catalysis Science & Technology (fundamental science of catalysis and science of catalysis technology, incl. applications addressing societal needs). During my PhD, I had the opportunity to mentor colleagues in the laboratory and supervise master students during their academic project. My research was characterized by strong collaborations with industries and foreign universities. My research experiences allow me to be an expert in the area of heterogeneous catalysts in metal complex-catalyzed synthesis of potentially valuable organic compounds.
