Biography
Prof. Anandhan has made innovative and sustained contributions to academia, applied research, and academic leadership in polymer technology and nanotechnology. Since earning his Ph.D. from IIT Kharagpur in 2004, he has held international appointments in Australia, Korea, and Malaysia before joining his present institution in 2009, where he rose to Professor in 2018 and served as Head of Department. A highly rated teacher and accomplished mentor, he has supervised eleven doctoral scholars and guided fifty-one master’s projects. His prolific research record includes over 100 indexed publications, patents, book chapters, and edited volumes, supported by competitive funding exceeding ₹3.80 crores. He has established advanced laboratories in nanofibers, flexible electronics, polymeric materials, and micro-Raman spectroscopy, and is widely recognized as a reviewer for more than sixty international journals and examiner of over fifty doctoral dissertations. His distinctions include Fellowships of the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK), the Institution of Engineers (India), and the Indian Chemical Society, along with prestigious awards such as the Australia-India Council Fellowship, DST Fast Track Award, and IEI Young Engineer Award. He continues to serve on national accreditation and advisory committees, was named an IOP Trusted Reviewer in 2024, and in 2026 was invited to the editorial board of Engineering Research Express (IOP Publishing, UK).
