Biography
Dr. Ajit Salunke is an Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering at Don Bosco College of Engineering (DBCE), Fatorda, Goa. He has served as Head of Department for 10 years and as Officiating Principal for a year. He holds PhD from VTU Belagavi specializing in automated quality grading of agricultural edible nuts using machine vision and physical properties. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, M.Tech in Computer Integrated Manufacturing, PG Diploma in HRM & a Diploma in Training & Development. With over 26 years of professional experience, Dr. Ajit Salunke has been associated with Padre Conceição College of Engineering and Sesa Goa Ltd. He has organized 60+ workshops & seminars, including corporate training programs, & delivered 40+ invited talks on Robotics, Automation, 3D Printing, Industry 4.0, & Smart Farming at engineering colleges, polytechnics & schools across Goa & Karnataka. Dr. Salunke has published 26 research papers in national/ international journals & conferences and has presented his work at an international conference at the National University of Singapore. A Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India) and Life Member of ISTE, NIPM, and VIBHA, AMIEE, he received the CSI TechNext “Best HOD of the Year” Award (2017) at IIT Mumbai. He has also served on the Board of Governors of DBCE, the Board of Studies in Mechanical Engineering at Goa University, and contributes as a resource person for Vidnyan Dhara (DHE, Govt. of Goa) and SCIFFI.
