Biography
Dr. Sheetal D Tank,is Chief Librarian of Atmiya University, she handles all the institutional Libraries on the campus. She is with the ATMIYA group of Institutions from last 17 years and has a total of 20 years of experience in Librarianship. She has done her Bachelors in Computer Science, Masters in Library and Information with Gold Medal from Goa University. Her research work was on “Crowd based open learning environments in Library” and has her PhD in Information Science and
Management from Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
She has been the recipient of the following awards:
• “Young Library and information Scientist Award” in 2002 by Society of Information Science,
• Best Young Library Science Professional of India in 2004 by Indian Library Association
• Pedagogical Innovation Award from GTU Innovation Council in 2013
She has published a book and many research papers in the field of Library science in journals, national conferences and seminars. Her interest areas are building
Learning Environments in the Library; Library Automation and online Resource creation. She has conducted national workshops and also has been a resource person for Information Literacy programmes at different institutes and Universities. She has provided consultancy for Library development in upcoming institutes in the region of Saurashtra and Kutch. She is a member of task force at Atmiya University for Implementation of NEP and SDG2030.
