Biography

Dr.V. SENTHUR VELMURUGAN is presently working as the Librarian and Head, Central Library and Department of Library and Information Science, KONGU ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE (Autonomous), Erode, Tamil Nadu, India. He has around 17 years of professional experience in the field of library and information science. He started his career as a library assistant at Sri Kaliswari College, Sivakasi. He passed TNSET in 2018 and was awarded a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science in 2019 from Madurai Kamaraj University. His areas of interest include information and communication technology (ICT), user studies, bibliography, and e-resources. He has written more than 15 chapters in the textbooks of library and information science and published five books and more than 35 research articles in national and international journals. He has presented more than 15 research papers at national and international conferences and seminars. He has attended more than 15 seminars, workshops and training programs. He has eight awards, namely the Kamarajar Award, the Noolaga Maamani Award, the National Best Librarian Award, the Outstanding Service Award, the Lifetime Achiever Award, the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Ratna Award, the National Achievers Award, and the Young Researchers Award. He is a reviewer and editorial board member of some national and international peer-reviewed journals.
