Biography

Dr. Sukhendu Jana is serving as an Assistant Professor (Selection Grade) at Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology (MSIT), Kolkata, India. He holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur, following an M.Sc. in Physics from Presidency College/University of Calcutta and has more than 18 years of research experience spanning Materials Science. Dr. Jana's research interests are primarily focused on diamond-like nanocomposite (DLN) thin films, carbon-based nanocomposites, silicon nanowire, optical and electrical properties of functional thin films, and their applications in crystalline-silicon photovoltaic devices.
Dr. Jana has published more than 35 international papers, along with two book chapters and two edited books. He has also published two Indian Patents. His scholarly activities were placed in the top 5% in Nanocomposites and top 10% in Energy/Renewable Energy/Solar Cell area internationally according to the ScholarGPS's evaluation criteria, 2026. He has received distinctions including a Best Paper Presentation Award at the 98th Indian Science Congress, Outstanding Paper Abstract recognition at PVSEC-30/GPVC, South Korea. Dr. Jana is actively engaged in the international peer-review and scholarly publishing ecosystem. He was recognized as a Springer Nature Trusted Reviewer and an IOP Trusted Reviewer. His professional profile records 30 verified peer reviews for SCI-indexed journals.
