Biography
Suraj Purohit is a DST-INSPIRE fellow in the Department of
Chemistry at Doon University, Dehradun, India. Born in 1998 in Chamoli, Uttarakhand, he completed his B.Sc. from Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal (Central) University in 2018 and his M.Sc. from Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University in the year 2020. He earned a gold medal for securing first rank in the university during his M.Sc. He has qualified in two major national-level examinations, GATE-2022 (AIR 1287) and Joint CSIR-UGC NET (AIR 48). He joined the Department of Chemistry, Doon University as a Ph.D. research scholar in 2021. The Department of Science and Technology (Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India) awarded him with the highly prestigious, highly competitive and national-level DST-INSPIRE fellowship for five years to pursue the Ph.D. His current research focuses on developing palladium phosphide and palladium telluride-based nanomaterials for various organic transformation reactions and electrocatalysis.
